Cold pressed castor oil made with bull driven process where fresh castor seeds are shelled and sun dried by hands on our farms which are then wood pressed and crushed at cold temperature to bring out the most natural and organic cold pressed castor oil. Our castor oil is 100% virgin castor oil in which we also add some turmeric to enhance the benefits of the oil for skin and hair.
Most of the other cold pressed castor oils available in market are crushed using machines which increases the temperature of the oil which makes it loose its natural properties and health benefits. They sell them as cold pressed oils or kachi ghani coconut oil but in reality these oils are not cold pressed.
At Grassroots Organic Farms, we completely avoid any machines and our cold pressed castor oils are wood pressed by traditional bull driven process which makes it 100% cold pressed and 100% virgin castor oils.
Grassroots Organic Farms Castor Oil (Traditional Method of Extraction)
Our castor beans are shelled and sun-dried by hand on our farm. We slow roast them, much like coffee, and stone-grind them using our bull driven methods after a round of hand-pounding.
The following day, early in the morning, we boil this castor paste in hot water just as the sun rises. This process is carried from our grandmothers and ancestors who believed that the first rays of the sun brought vitality to castor oil.
The next day, we add some naturally grown turmeric, boil it again, and then cook it one last before bottling it up as the fragrance of fresh castor oil greets us at the farm.
It takes us five kilos of naturally grown castor beans and a whole week to make a single batch of this castor oil.
